1. General Information
The "Las Carolinas" application (hereinafter, "the App") is a security management and access control system for the Las Carolinas gated community, located in City Bell, La Plata, Argentina. The App is operated by the Las Carolinas neighborhood administration.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect the personal information of App users.
2. Data We Collect
We collect the following personal data:
- Registration data: first name, last name, email address.
- Lot data: assigned lot number and relationship to the lot (owner, family member).
- Guest data: first and last name of individuals authorized to enter via QR codes.
- Usage data: QR code scan records (date, time, guard who performed the scan).
- Device data: access to the device camera (solely for scanning QR codes).
3. Purpose of Data Processing
We use the collected data to:
- Manage access to the neighborhood via QR codes.
- Identify authorized owners, family members, and guests.
- Record entries to the neighborhood for security purposes.
- Manage the reception of deliveries and packages.
- Administer system users and roles.
4. Legal Basis
Data processing is based on the user's consent upon registration and the legitimate interest in ensuring the neighborhood's security, in accordance with Argentine Law No. 25,326 on Personal Data Protection.
5. Storage and Security
Data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase (cloud infrastructure). Authentication is managed by Clerk. Both services implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
QR codes have an expiration date and are automatically invalidated to prevent unauthorized access.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. Data may only be shared with:
- Neighborhood security personnel, in the context of access validation.
- Neighborhood administrators, for user and lot management.
- Technology service providers (Supabase, Clerk, Vercel) who act as data processors.
7. Device Permissions
The App requests the following permissions:
- Camera: required for scanning QR codes at the access point. No photographs are taken or stored.
8. User Rights
Under Argentine law, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Object to the processing of your data.

9. Data Retention
Personal data is retained as long as the user maintains an active account in the system. Scan records are kept for security purposes for a period of 12 months. Upon account deletion, personal data will be removed within 30 days.
10. Changes
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be communicated through the App. Continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
